JustJohn FC Unveils, We Believe That The Way We Started, There Is Nothing God Cannot Do

L-R: (Chairman),- Oyeleye Abimbola Justus, (Chairman),- Oyeleye Olanrewaju Johnson during a media briefing held in Ota, Ogun State on the 27th June, 2024.
I believe that the way we started, there is nothing God cannot do and with the support of my brother. Most clubs that crashed are because of bad management. With the support of my brother and other resources, I am praying that we will not go down. On our own side, we will ensure that our management team is strong enough in terms of official aspects. In terms of finances, we will seek for more sponsorship. There are many football lovers in Nigeria who will love to see this kind of thing”, Oyeleye Olanrewaju Johnson said.
On how they source the talents, they stated that “recently, we wrote a letter to CUSS and they just gave us approval to come and host their inter-classes football competition. That will give us chance to get younger talents, starting from the age of nine to fifteen and sixteen years old” .
They equally observed that, the reason for the failure of most Nigerian football is because a wide range of the clubs always look for finished products.
But JustJohn FC, they said, has their own goal which is hinged on going from the scratch and that has helped them to make ordinary players become football stars.
“Some of their parents are not financially buoyant to help their children to the top even though the children have that talent. But with our own club, we have a goal of helping and nurturing them from that kind of age to a better level”.
“Our uniqueness is that most clubs don’t go to this level of scouting players from the grassroots. We go deep to the grassroots and develop them”, they informed.
Also speaking at the media briefing, Head Coach of JustJohn FC, Coach Mustapha Afis Ademola said his watchword for the team is discipline.
For a player to do well, Coach Ademola who is also an Executive Member of Nigerian Football Coaches Association (NFCA) , Ogun State chapter, said disciple is important to have a good team and that is what he ensures that the players imbibe.
Discipline is very important in my approach and that is what we instill in the players at JustJohn FC.
“Indiscipline starts from lateness and attitude towards other players. We don’t tolerate all those nonsense from them and other negative attitudes such as using vulgar words on other players. .
On how he sources for the players, Coach Ademola said” most of the players come when they see better coach. They like to mingle with me because I always deliver. I don’t go to them but they come to me because they know what I can offer”.
Corroborating on what the owners of the club said, Coach Ademola said “The foundation of every football is the grassroots. That is why in JustJohn FC, we nurture them from the tender age. Grassroot footballers can serve this country. When we take them from tender age, they know the rudiments of the game.
He advised the government to grow grassroot football, emphasizing that the government has an important role to play in football development in the country.
Giving his team a passmark of 90 percent, he said that the club needs to grow more of the grassroots players, saying “I love attacking and scoring. We are playing Nationwide League 2 which will commence by next month” .
In a related development, JustJohn FC Limited, a club registered under Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2022, to nurture young talented players from nook and cranny of Ogun State and beyond was recently approved as a bonafide affiliate of the Ogun State Football Association (OGSFA).
The approval was conveyed to the club in a letter to Just John FC, dated 12th February, 2024 and signed by Secretary of OGSFA, Elder Victor O Idowu.
Congratulating Just John FC, the letter stated “In reference to the letter dated 12th February, 2024 requesting to affiliate with Ogun State Football Association ” I am directed to convey the approval of your club to operate as an affiliate in the state for the year 2024 and of which you are to always pay an annual dues every year of your existence”.
“We therefore, believe that with your existence with OGSFA, you will expedite your quota for the development of sports in Ogun State”.
“While welcoming your sucess, stay in the football family, please accept our warm existing sports regards”, the letter added.
With this new development, Just John FC, a leading football club in Ogun State has joined the league of the State Association affiliates, giving it an edge further.
Also with this elevation, Just John FC will also enjoy some of the benefits derivable from identifying with both OGSFA and Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), which are committed to nurturing talent, promoting fair play, and fostering sportsmanship in the country.
